Tectonic
Compile TeX and LaTeX documents with automatic resource downloads.
Tectonic is a command-line typesetting system based on XeTeX and TeXLive. It fetches supporting files as needed and produces documents without requiring a full TeX distribution to be installed in advance.
Its Rust CLI and library crates coordinate typesetting engines and resource handling, alongside substantial C and C++ components. Tectonic project code is MIT-licensed; bundled third-party components have their own licenses.
