Musicat is a desktop player for local audio files, with metadata editing, smart playlists, folder watching, lyrics, and library statistics. It works with the original files on disk rather than importing them into a separate managed collection.
The application combines a Svelte interface with a substantial Rust backend using Tauri. Rust modules handle playback, audio output, metadata, and library storage. It is a pre-1.0 project whose features may change.
