mdBook is a command-line tool for turning Markdown files into online books, tutorials, and documentation. Its generated sites include chapter navigation, search, and code syntax highlighting. Authors can customize themes and extend the build through preprocessors and alternative renderers.
The generator is written in Rust. It also provides local preview with automatic rebuilding and a command for testing Rust examples embedded in a book.
